Ashes 2017/18: Moeen Ali to Lead England In the Warm-Up Game: All-rounder Moeen Ali will lead England in the warm-up match against Cricket Australia XI before the third Test begins on December 14 in Perth.

England trail Australia 0-2 in the ongoing Ashes series and needs to get their game back on track in the next Test to be played at the WACA in Perth. England lost the second Test at the Adelaide Oval by 120 runs after giving the Aussies a run for their money on the fourth day. England was bundled out in the very first session of day five losing their last six wickets for a mere 58 runs.

Moeen Ali has had a disappointing Ashes till now, picking up just two wickets in the two Tests leaving him far behind of his Australian counterpart Nathan Lyon who has 11 scalps to his name.

The England camp feels Ali failed to get sufficient training or match practice before the Ashes due to a side strain and this match will be helpful for the off-spinning all-rounder.
