    Following yet another series victory for the Men in Blue, captain Virat Kohli consolidated on the No.1 position in T20I’s while openers Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma have also made significant gains.

    Kohli gained 13 rating points to strengthen his numero uno status after scoring 104 runs in the series to take India to a 2-1 win. He also widened the gap to 40 points with 2nd ranked batsman Aaron Finch.

    Rohit and Dhawan scored 93 and 87 runs in the series and gained three places to 21st and 20 to 45th, respectively. The Indian bowlers also made significant gains and moved in the upward direction in the rankings.

    Bhuvneshwar Kumar gained two places to move up to 26th position while leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal moved up 22 spots to be placed at the 30th position. Left-arm spinner Axar Patel also rose up to 62nd position after gaining 17 rating points.

    In the latest rankings for teams, India despite gaining three points have retained their No.5th position, as they failed to get past England on decimal points. The Kiwis, however, surrendered their numero uno status after losing five rating points. Before the start of the series, New Zealand had 125 rating points which reduced to 120 points by the end of the series.

    Meanwhile, New Zealand’s loss was Pakistan’s gain, as they secured the No.1 spot in the T20I Rankings with 124 rating points. The New Zealand bowlers who performed brilliantly in the series made significant gains especially Ish Sodhi and Trent Boult.

    While Ish Sodhi’s five wickets in the series helped him move up to the top 10 for the first time in his career, Trent Boult who bagged six wickets reached a career-best 16th position climbing up 14 places.

    Tim Southee moved up five places to 81st while opener Colin Munro has moved up significantly after an electric century in Rajkot. He gained four places to move up to the 12th position after scoring 123 runs in the three-match series.
