• More than half members of the New Zealand squad, on Friday (October 13), arrived in Mumbai for the limited-overs series against India.

New Zealand’s middle-order batsman Ross Taylor took to Instagram to announce his arrival as he wrote: “Nice to be back in India. #jetlagged 🙈😂 @ Trident Hotel.”

Only nine players have arrived in India as New Zealand Cricket have announced an incomplete squad. The remaining six players will be selected by their performance in the ongoing series between New Zealand A and India A at Vizag.

The limited-overs tour will kick start with the One-Day International leg in Mumbai on October 22. The next two games of the three-match series will be played at Pune (October 25) and Kanpur (October 29). A three-match T20 series will follow the ODI series.

Before the series, the Black Caps will play two warm-up games against the Board President’s XI, on October 17 and 19 at the CCI. They will have their first practice session at the CCI, tomorrow morning.

Meanwhile, Kane Williamson & Co. will be hoping to leave India on a winning note this time after their forgettable tour last year. They were whitewashed 3-0 in the Test series, and although they gave the Men in Blue a run for their money in the ODIs, they eventually lost it 3-2.

However, winning against Virat Kohli & Co. will be a herculean task for the visitors who have a mixed record in the ODIs this year. They began the year series win over Bangladesh and Australia before losing against South Africa at home. It was followed by a win in the tri-series, involving Bangladesh and Ireland before the Kane Williamson-led side exited the Champions Trophy at the group stage.

On the other hand, Team India has not lost an ODI series this year, having won 17 of the 23 ODIs. The Men in Blue also made it to the final of the Champions Trophy.

New Zealand’s incomplete squad for the ODI series:

Martin Guptill, Tom Latham, Kane Williamson(c), Ross Taylor, Colin de Grandhomme, Mitchell Santner, Tim Southee, Adam Milne, Trent Boult

Schedule for the New Zealand series:

    17 October 1st Warm-up CCI, Mumbai
    19 October 2nd Warm-up CCI, Mumbai
    22 October 1st ODI Mumbai
    25 October 2nd ODI Pune
    29 October 3rd ODI UPCA
    1 November 1st T20I Delhi
    4 November 2nd T20I Rajkot
    7 November 3rd T20I Thiruvananthapuram
