    Ryan ten Doeschate Set For International Return

    Ryan ten Doeschate is all set to make a sensational return for Netherlands, the country’s cricket board confirmed on Tuesday (November 14). The all-rounder will be in the squad for the side’s final two matches of the ICC World Cricket League against Namibia in Dubai on December 6 and 8.

    Doeschate, who last played an international game during the 2011 World Cup,  has been featuring heavily in franchise cricket across the world in the last few years. He recently led Essex to an unprecedented County Championship title and also played in franchise T20 tournaments in India, Zimbabwe, Australia, New Zealand and Pakistan.

    Head coach Ryan Campbell welcomed the news and said Doeschate getting added to the squad is a massive gain for the team.

    “Getting a player of Ryan’s talent and experience is a massive gain for us. What he brings to the squad is more than just runs, wickets and brilliant fielding. He brings a wealth of experience and knowledge in big matches,” Campbell said.

    Sitting pretty at the top of World Cricket League table with 8 points, Netherlands have already sealed their spot for the World Cup qualifiers along with Papua New Guinea. However, they will be looking to consolidate their position at the top of the table to become the 13th ODI side that will compete in the ICC ODI Championship that is set to begin in 2020.

    Meanwhile, Netherlands will be without the allrounder Michael Rippon who wasn’t released by New Zealand’s provincial team Otago.
