Although Manchester City are the favorites of all the bookmakers around the world, I cannot look past Manchester United for this season’s Premier League title.
The Red Devils have been ruthless in getting their transfer deals done and with Paul Pogba’s arrival, odds will indeed shift in their favor. Good betting opportunities will certainly arise as this Premier League season rolls out – some with no deposit free bets, and some with enhanced odds offers to back both Man City and Manchester United.
Under Pep Guardiola, City have spent close to £150million but have largely signed players who are young or are yet to prove themselves. Likes of Gabriel Jesus and Leroy Sane are still young and as for John Stones he has suffered a sticky couple of seasons at Everton.
That is where Man United have done good business by going after players who are experienced and have proved themselves in recent past. Pogba and Mkhitaryan had most number of assists in Serie A and Bundeslga respectively while Zlatan scored 38 goals for PSG last season. These numbers will certainly make United a firm favourites for the title next season.
As for the other challengers, Tottenham have brought shrewdly with Victor Wanyama and Vincent Janseen arriving at White Hart Lane. Meanwhile Arsenal, Chelsea and Leicester are yet to sort out their transfer business for the summer.
Leicester City are still battling to keep hold of Riyad Mahrez who seems to have lost his desire to stay at King Power Stadium. Elsewhere Arsenal are struggling to bring in a central defender and a striker which is necessary for their title chances this season.
Chelsea seem to be a potential threat but Antonio Conte’s transfer activities and the remaining 3 weeks of the summer window will decide their fate. Meanwhile, Liverpool have decided to spend on average players which does not seem enough when it comes to challenging for the league title.
Initial signs do suggest that the Premier League title is coming to Manchester next season and it is between Mourinho and Guardiola to fight it out for the most coveted trophy in English football. Their history from La Liga will make the rivalry even more intense as they are no longer battling with each other rather they have 4-5 genuine challengers for the league title this season.
