• Kolkata, July 10 (IANS) Fifteen-year-old Bengal sub-junior hockey player Siddharth Kharwar died at his residence in Gorakhpur after a bout of sickness, according to information received by Bengal Hockey Association here on Monday.

    “We were informed this morning about the sad demise of Siddharth. We were told he is sick and passed away last (Sunday) night,” a BHA official said.

    Kharwar represented Bengal in the 7th Hockey India Sub Junior National Hockey Championship this year in Bengaluru.

    The IANS was founded by Indian American publisher Gopal Raju as the India Abroad News Service. It was later renamed the Indo-Asian News Service.
