It has been reported for numerous times that WWE is going forward to hold the main event featuring Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns at Wrestlemania 34. It might be the sole reason that the beast incarnate hang on to his championship until the grandest stage of the year arrives, next year. There have been plenty of occasions where we have seen the company’s determination to establish Roman Reigns as the face of the enterprise, and this would be another one.
Now, the reports have gone viral on the internet, and most of the pro-wrestling fans are aware of the main event of next year’s Wrestlemania. This is no secret either considering that the Big Dog has been in the same spotlight for the past few years. He is that one rare guy to the main event ‘the showcase of immortals’ for the last three years, and there’s no doubt that Vince McMahon will let him do that again.
Now, considering the so much likely scenario where Roman Reigns dethrones Brock Lesnar and gets a coronation at ‘Mania, the creative heads of the WWE might be thinking for a change. This would be something similar to the last couple of year’s main event where he walked out of the biggest stage with his hands raising following a mega victory.
According to the reports from Wrestling News World, the creative team is completely split about hosting the same match at Wrestlemania. Some of them are willing to go with the firm plan whereas the others want to give a change to it.
Apart from this source, 434 Facebook page also reported that WWE is probably willing to bring John Cena in the championship picture, as well. This means anyone from Reigns or Cena will face the beast. There is also a chance where the Universal Championship match at Wrestlemania becomes a triple threat.
Another reason behind moving away from the Roman Reigns’ project is the constant boos from the WWE fans that caused a bigger dip to his merchandise selling in the first quarter of 2017. This probably happened following his win against The Undertaker which marked the end for the Deadman. The fan backlash towards Reigns has gone on to a different level. We will have to wait and see whether the creative team finally listens to the WWE fans and remove The Guy from the main event spotlight.
