• The absence of Roman Reigns from the main event match at TLC was a blessing in disguise for the hardcore wrestling fans. These fans always have a hatred to the Big Dog and hence was much happier to witness Kurt Angle replacing the franchise player.

It was indeed one of those most auspicious occasions in the WWE where the most technical wrestler of all time was making his in-ring return in the WWE. The last time, he competed in a match was in ECW back in 2006. It was indeed a treat for the fans to see the former Olympic Gold Medalist be back inside the squared circle.

However, the original planning of WWE to not allow Kurt Angle to wrestle ever in a match. Fans may be aware of the fact that the veteran wrestler has dealt a career-threatening neck concussion and later involved in a drug abusiveness which was the man reason behind his WWE departure.

In a recent episode of Dinner with The King, Jerry Lawler revealed that these past obstacles remained constraints for his in-ring return. While signing a new deal with the WWE, earlier this year, he was informed about the same, for sure upon which we were not supposed to see him wrestling, ever.

However, things do change in the pro-wrestling business, all of a sudden as he was used as a special attraction at TLC. Check out Jerry’s quotes, here,

“Kurt and I talked at length about that [in the past], how much he wanted to still wrestle with WWE. He was happy with the contract and happy to be back with the WWE, but he was not crazy about the fact, I guess they had already told him that they didn’t think they wanted him to do things like getting in the ring and wrestle.”

Additional reports from PWinisder.com suggested that it was none other than Vince McMahon’s idea to replace Roman Reigns with Kurt Angle. He is the most strict person to prohibit superstars from returning after coming over concussions. This time, things were changed with a ‘last minute notice’, as per the Boss. As soon as Angle was medically cleared to compete, the official announcement was made.
