• Roman Reigns is considered to be the franchise player of the Raw brand.

The spotlight is always on him no matter what. It is why he has been able to main-event three consecutive Wrestlemanias starting from 2015. So, it is not expected that WWE will hand him a string of PPV losses in a row. But, in reality, that’s what happened, exactly leading the fans to a surprise.

Reigns had enough momentum heading into the Wrestlemania match against The Undertaker. He picked up a big win against Braun Strowman at the Fastlane PPV. He followed it up with the greatest victory of his career against the Deadman at the main event of the showcase of immortals. But, since then, he has not been able to earn a singles victory at the PPVs.

At the post-Wrestlemania PPV, Payback, he featured in a single’s match against Braun Strowman and suffered a clean pin. In the next PPV, Extreme Rules, he was unable to become the number one contender for the Universal Championship in a fatal-five-way main event match.

The next PPV, Great Balls of Fire witnessed him competing in an ambulance match against Strowman, and he came out losing, yet again. At the bygone Summerslam PPV, he was unsuccessful to win the Universal title in a fatal-4-way match that also featured Lesnar, Samoa Joe, and Strowman. Added to it, he was also the one who took the pinfall at the hands of Lesnar, too.

It is a huge change from WWE booking who nearly used to portray Roman Reigns as an invincible one who just can’t afford to lose, at all. Recently, a Twitter user asked the reason behind this booking to Dave Meltzer. He stated that it is due to WWE Creative trying to book him in more realistic ways so that the crowd might start to like him. It might turn him into a full-fledged babyface, finally.

Despite what the company wants the fans to react, they kept booing The Big Dog on a constant basis for the entire time. Hence, it is not likely that the creative team will succeed in doing so. The latest example was in Brooklyn where he was just booed out of the building, once again.
