• Summerslam is known as the biggest event of the summer. In the overall scenario, this is the second biggest show in WWE PPV calendar just after Wrestlemania. So, quite expectedly, when it comes to booking matches, the creative reserves huge matches in order to make the event a sellout. Both Raw and Smackdown come up with marquee matches for the show.

Starting from last year, the significance of these dual brand PPVs have gone bigger since both the brands compete to reign supreme on one another. The show has hit a six-hour long landmark, last year and it is probably going to get bigger, this year so that the mega matches can be witnessed in the PPV.

However, as per reports from Inquistr.com, the creative team might have to make some tough choices while scheduling the matches on the main show. It is not possible to arrange all the matches to the card. Hence, irrespective of the relevance of certain matches, they need to be pushed to the kick-off show.

According to the source, the first match that is the front-runner to be part of the kick-off show is Mike Kanellis vs. Sami Zayn. With the latest ongoing, the feud between these two is definitely not over and will look to culminate at Summerslam. But, at the same time, it’s not so much worthy to be placed on the PPV main show and quite expectedly will be moved to the pre-show slot.

In addition, it might happen that the match takes place on Smackdown Live one week prior or post the PPV to settle things down. The same can be said on a similar feud between Big Cass and Big Show. The rivalry between these two giant superstars is quite natural. This is the reason why they have got the main event spotlight, as well on Raw.

However, the crowd was extremely flat during the match hinting that they are not interested at all in this contest. In addition, the WWE creative team is much concerned with Jason Jordan not being ready for an Intercontinental matchup against the A-lister, The Miz. Hence, there’s a certain question about the IC title matchup, as well. We have to wait till August 20th to find out the final match card and the listings for the doubtful matches.
